In a thrilling showcase of athleticism and teamwork, the 1st SPS Summer Volleyball Tournament concluded with an exhilarating grand finale, leaving the audience and participants on the edge of their seats.
The intense competition held over the past week in San Vicente, Palawan featured some of the most talented volleyball teams from six towns in the province, all vying for the prestigious title.
After a series of intense matches and nail-biting moments, one team for each of the men and women categories emerged victorious, etching their names in the annals of the 1st SPS Summer Volleyball Tournament.
The grand finale took place in Ursula Beach, Long Beach, San Vicente, which was packed to the brim with enthusiastic fans eagerly awaiting the showdown.
The atmosphere was electric, with the cheers and chants echoing through the arena, adding to the intensity of the matches.
Each team showcased exceptional skills and teamwork throughout the tournament, earning them a well-deserved place in the championship match.
In the end, in the men’s category, it was Jomel Dagaraga and Mohammad Ain from Balabac who emerged triumphant, winning the match and securing the title of the 1st SPS Summer Volleyball Tournament champions in the Men’s Category, while Ryan Lopez and Mark Justin Oaing from El Nido took the 1st place, and Janzen Earl Rosialda and Jayson Rey Cinco from the host town San Vicente took home the 2nd place.
For the Women’s Category, CM Divine Trongco and Mae Ann Estaño from Rizal won the championship title, while Rodelyn Paiton and Shamy Rose Decena from San Vicente emerged at the second place, and Jenny Briones and Mhelva Joy Salcedo took the 2nd place.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) title was given to Jomel Dagaraga for the Men’s Division and CM Divine Trongco for the Womens Division. They both received P3,000 each with the title.
The champions were awarded with a P20,000 cash prize, P15,000 for the 1st placers and P10,000 for the second placers.
In total, 20 volleyball athletes participated from six towns in the province including Balabac, El Nido, San Vicente, Quezon, Bataraza and Rizal.
The 1st SPS Summer Volleyball Tournament not only showcased the immense talent of the participating teams but also promoted sportsmanship and camaraderie. It served as a platform for athletes to demonstrate their skills, forge new friendships, and inspire young players to pursue their dreams in sports.
