Twenty-one (21) joyful Muslim couples at the Barangay Maasin Covered Court in Brooke’s Point, Palawan successfully received their marriage certificates yesterday, December 13, from the Municipal Civil Registrar’s Office, distributed by MCRO Salve Corazon Villaruel and Mayor Cesareo R. Benedito Jr.
Alongside the marriage certificates, the local government also distributed gift packs, souvenirs, and cakes. MCRO Salve Corazon Villaruel emphasized the importance of safeguarding these documents as proof of legal marriage, encouraging couples to register their children for legal documentation in support of the government’s “Rehistro mo, Sagot ng Gobyerno” program.
Mayor Benedito urged certificate recipients to cherish the documents, highlighting their significance in accessing government privileges.
He emphasized the continued centrality of faith and mutual care within their relationships.
Executive Secretary Stalwart Joseph Benedito, Imam Bickre Mataria, Muksin Ibrahim III, Barangay Captain Ruel B. Austria, represented by Barangay Kagawad Joel Luagna, and other local government officials attended the event.
The local government, led by Mayor Cesareo R. Benedito Jr., Vice Mayor Atty. Mary Jean D. Feliciano, and the entire Sangguniang Bayan, reiterated their full support for such programs, aiming to ensure everyone obtains legal documents and sufficient privileges from the government.
