The 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Palawan proudly announces the successful completion of the P11.9 million concreting project, specifically the National Highway Junction to Sitio Nanabu, Barangay aramay Farm-to-Market Road in the town of Roxas.
The newly concreted 0.99 lane-kilometer farm-to-market road is a significant development that will greatly benefit the farmers and local residents of the said barangay.
The DPWH- MIMAROPA Region emphasized that this accomplishment aims to improve accessibility, promote efficient transportation of agricultural products, and enhance the overall socio-economic conditions in the area.
Prior to the completion of the project, the farm-to-market road was predominantly unpaved, making it challenging for farmers to transport their goods and for residents to travel in adverse weather conditions. With the concreting works now finished, transportation of goods, especially agricultural produce, will be easier and more efficient, benefitting not only the farmers but the entire community as well.
The concreting project involved the application of quality materials and adherence to engineering standards to ensure the durability and longevity of the road. It underwent rigorous planning, design, and construction phases to meet the requirements and specifications set by the DPWH.
The completion of the concreting project in Roxas is just one of the many initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive growth, promoting connectivity, and enhancing the socio-economic landscape of Palawan.
With the improved road infrastructure, the farmers and residents of Barangay Caramay are now better equipped to thrive in their agricultural endeavors, facilitate trade, and enjoy easier access to various essential services. The DPWH continues to work hand in hand with local communities to identify and address infrastructure needs, ensuring that development reaches every corner of Palawan.
