Dr. Sue Cudilla will be returning back to Municipal Hall of Araceli this June 30 after she won the tie-breaker for the mayoralty position through coin tosses.
Conducted inside the legislative building of Araceli today, May 17, the best-of-three toss coin, which is prescribed by the Omnibus Election Code, all tails made Cudilla win.
Elections Officer Emil Yap Alili, together with the Municipal Board of Canvassers, facilitated the breaking of the tie, where both got 3,495 votes.
In the Facebook Live interview of Palawan Daily News, Mayor-elect Cudilla said, “Unang-una, natutuwa po ako sa result ng ating toss coin, and siguro dahil gusto talaga ito ni Lord kaya binigay talaga sa akin.”
Competing for the post is the incumbent Mayor Noel Beronio, who defeated Cudilla in 2016 with only 19 votes.
Mayor Beronio was not present during the tie-breaker toss coin, but he was represented by his brother Lucibar Beronio Jr.
A dentist by profession, Cudilla previously served as mayor in 2013 up to 2016.
