Palawan, in its quest to simplify firearm ownership, is preparing to host a five-day License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) Caravan from September 11 to 15, 2023.
The event is set to take place at the PGP Convention Center in the provincial capital as a featured highlight of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, orchestrated by the Palawan Provincial Government.
This collaborative effort unites various entities, including the Regional Civil Security Unit (CSRU-4B), the Palawan Provincial Government, Provincial Government Security Services (PGSS), Provincial Peace and Order Program (POP), and the Palawan Provincial Police Office.
Open to the general public, the caravan extends its services to both newcomers seeking firearm licenses and existing LTOPF holders seeking renewals. The schedule is as follows:
September 11-13: Accessible to Palawan Provincial Government employees and firearm enthusiasts from municipalities throughout the province.
September 14-15: Available to firearm enthusiasts residing in Puerto Princesa City.
For new applicants, the process entails gathering essential documents, such as the Application Form, Affidavit of Undertaking, 1 Valid ID, Proof of Income, Proof of Billing, NSO Birth Certificate, Neuro and Drug test results, and Gun Safety Seminar Certificate. Renewal applicants are required to submit the Application Form, Affidavit of Undertaking, 1 Valid ID, Neuro, and Drug test results.
The LTOPF Caravan stands as an annual commitment, aimed at making the firearm ownership process more convenient for Palawan residents.
By bringing this essential service closer to home, it eliminates the need for residents to travel to Manila, reducing both inconvenience and expenses.
Furthermore, this initiative assists the Philippine National Police in monitoring firearm ownership within Palawan.
