The newly-appointed provincial head of National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) was officially installed recently in a ceremony witnessed by other government offices, Muslim community and religious leaders, ushering opportunities for collaboration to empower Muslim communities in Palawan.
NCMF-South Luzon regional director Ceazar M. Maranda led the installation ceremony for NCMF-Palawan provincial head, Said-Alih K. Sha held at their office located in Old Buncag, Mandaragat, Puerto Princesa City.
In his message, Sha thanked the NCMF officials for their trust and confidence and paved way for him to be chosen as the Development Management Officer of the said office.
“Nagpasalamat tayo sa trust and confidence na binigay nila sa atin. Ang tawag dito ay Amanah,”
In Arabic, Amanah means trust, honesty and loyalty. Having an Amanah means having a trust or responsibility to something or someone. In Islam, Amanah refers to having integrity, and using our free will to carry out our duties and responsibilities towards Allah and His creation in the correct way.
He explained that the trust and confidence accorded to him is a big responsibility that he need to the support of other government agencies and offices.
“The Formal Installation of the new Provincial Director of NCMF Palawan was done by rendering keynote message from the Acting Regional Director Ceazar Miranda NCMF South Luzon and then followed by the handing over and entrusting the Philippine Flag from the acting Regional Director to the New Provincial Director of NCMF Palawan Field Office Prof. Said-Alih Kalun Sha and accepted by the new provincial director with message of acceptance and commitment of duties and responsibilities. Prof. Said -Alih Sha, sincerely thank the Almighty ALLAH thru the Secretary of NCMF Hon. Abdurahim N. Sabuddin for the “Amanah” or trust and confidence endowed to him. He also thank national and local agencies representatives, Muslim Organizations, Mashaykh for their presence to witness the ceremony. He humbly sought the support of the different agencies all Civil Society organizations especially Muslim Organization for collaboration in achieving the mandate of the National Commission Muslim Filipinos for Muslim Communities empowerment . He encourage and pushed the unity and solidarity of both Muslim and Non -Muslim and to break all gaps among tribes guided by islamic values for prosperity and development in nation building,” NCMF said in a statement.
“Hinihiling natin ang kanilang support, partnership at collaboration, para ma-empower ang Muslim community, ma protektahan at ma preserve ang culture, Sha said.
He further said that he is happy with the assurance from various government agencies and offices, especially the DepEd who expressed support for the Madrasah program.
The Madrasah Education Program (MEP) is a program that provides Muslim learners with educational opportunities that are culturally relevant and Islamic-friendly. The program is offered in both public and private schools.
Present during the occasion was Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) provincial director Gerardo Mercado, Dr. Rolando Taja, who is the education supervisor of the Department of Education (DepEd), Imam Sunsong Camama who heads the City’s Muslim Affairs office, NCMF Chief of Cultural Affairs Division Alejandro T. Deron, Heads of the Palawan Ulama Supreme Council,Sheik Abdulnasser Jameron , Human Development Foundation Inc. thru Sheik Said Amin among others.
The NCMF, established by Republic Act No. 9997, is mandated to preserve and develop the culture, traditions, institutions, and well-being of Muslim Filipinos, while promoting national unity and development.
