A Pugay-Tagumpay Ceremonial Rites took center stage in Robinsons Place, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on August 15, proudly honoring the accomplishments of 60 beneficiaries hailing from the city, all of whom have thrived under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Vice Mayor Ma. Nancy M. Socrates led the event, joined by representatives from the City Agriculture Office, DILG Office, and Robinsons Place Palawan.
The attendees were united in their support, including City Social Welfare and Development Officer (CSWDO) Lydia M. Del Rosario, SK Federation President Myka Mabelle Magbanua, Sustainable Livelihood Program Project Coordinator Gina Bacosa, and Ms. Cherelyn Lebante, the representative of Congressman Edward S. Hagedorn’s office.
Expressing her heartfelt sentiments, Ms. Lydia M. Del Rosario, CSWDO, emphasized the continued care for the graduates as they transition beyond the 4Ps program. A meaningful gesture of support was also extended by Congressman Edward S. Hagedorn’s office through the provision of food packs for the beneficiaries.
The Pugay-Tagumpay event carries particular significance for the Palawan beneficiaries, as the 4Ps program plays a pivotal role in assisting families classified as the “poorest of the poor.”
By offering cash grants, the program aims to uplift these families, and the Pugay-Tagumpay Ceremony reinforces the Department of Social and Welfare’s (DSWD) commitment to pursuing dignified livelihoods and lives of significance.
