Palawan employees engage in Enterprise Risk Management training to strengthen governance practices

To strengthen governance practices and foster a culture of effective decision-making, forty-three (43) employees from various offices within the Provincial Government of Palawan are actively participating in a comprehensive training on “Enterprise Risk Management.”
The training, which commenced yesterday, November 16 and is set to conclude today, November 17, is taking place at Flores De Musa Inn in Puerto Princesa City.
Facilitated by the Provincial Internal Audit Services Office (PIASO) under the leadership of Mrs. Erlinda A. Ermita, Officer-in-Charge, in alignment with the directives of Governor V. Dennis M. Socrates, the initiative holds paramount importance in enhancing the skills and knowledge of Capitol employees regarding “Risk Management.”
The training curriculum is thoughtfully designed, encompassing four (4) modules that delve into crucial aspects of risk management. These modules include (Module 1) an Overview of ISO 31000 Risk Management, (Module 2) the Risk Management Process – Understanding the context of the organization, (Module 3) Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Management of Learning, Risk Evaluation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Recording and Reporting, and (Module 4) Local Development Planning, Investment Programming and Budgeting, accompanied by the Principles of Internal Control and Internal Audit.
Furthermore, the training boasts esteemed resource speakers, namely, Dir. John Aries S. Macaspac from the System and Productivity Improvement Bureau (SPIB) and Ms. Leanne Kym Jane J. Lozañes from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Their insights are anticipated to enrich the participants’ understanding and application of enterprise risk management principles in the context of government operations. The overarching goal of this training is to equip participants with a profound understanding of Risk Management principles, empowering them to make informed decisions.
This, in turn, is expected to significantly contribute to the delivery of more effective and efficient services to the people of Palawan.
