The province of Palawan will host this year’s Filipino Food Month Celebration on April 29-30 for Luzon entitled “Hapag ng Pamana sa Palawan.”
Under the theme “Pagkaing Pilipino Susi sa Pag-unlad at Pagbabago,” the two-day event will highlight mouth-watering Palaweño indigenous cuisine and native delicacies across the province through food festival, symposium, film showing and cooking demos.
The event aims to promote and preserve the Filipino cultural heritage by using culinary arts which will also benefit farmers and agricultural communities.
The occasion is spearheaded by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Department of Agriculture, Department of Tourism and Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement in coordination with the Provincial Government of Palawan and other local private sectors.
The celebration is expected to be attended by representatives from national government agencies, officials from local government units, local tourism officers from the province and city and HRM and Tourism students from different schools and universities.
The month of April every year is declared as the Filipino Food Month or Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 469 on 2018.
