San Vicente gears up for the 2nd Paragua San Vic Surfing Competition in 2024

Barangay Alimanguan in San Vicente, Palawan is gearing up to host the eagerly anticipated Paragua San Vic 2nd Surfing Competition scheduled for January 30 to February 04, 2024.
Organized by the Local Government of San Vicente in partnership with the United Tourism Enterprise Association (UNITEA), this event invites surfers of all skill levels to ride its waves.
With the goal of positioning the sport as a key attraction in Palawan, the Surfing Competition aims to inspire local surfers to elevate their skills. Anticipated to attract tourists to San Vicente, it will showcase the town’s stunning destinations, bolstering the livelihood of its residents.
In a press conference held yesterday, December 13, at the Canvas Hotel in Puerto Princesa, key figures such as Ino Habana (Lazuli Beach Resort Owner), Lucy Panagsagan (San Vicente Municipal Tourism Officer), Malic Mangotara (Head of Palawan Surfing Association), Mike Oida (Tournament Director), Queny Seblano (President of Katang Surfers League), James Betia (Palawan Surfing Delegate), and Jong Benliro and Myles Tan (Co-Founders of Katang Surf) addressed the media.
The competition features four categories:
Men’s Shortboard Open
Men’s Longboard Open
Women’s Longboard Open
Junior’s Longboard Open
