H.E. Hanada Takahiro, the Minister and Consul General to the Embassy of Japan, along with Cherrie Martin, Local Staff Consular Section, and Margarette Lumauag, President of Palawan Nikkeijinkai, extended a courtesy call to Palawan’s provincial government officials on Monday, September 18.
This meeting marks an important step towards reinforcing the bonds of friendship and collaboration between Palawan and Japan.
Consul General Takahiro initiated discussions on the potential avenues for cooperation between Palawan and Japan, emphasizing the realms of business, economic collaboration, and tourism. His visit highlights Japan’s commitment to enhancing its already substantial presence in the Philippines, with a focus on the dynamic province of Palawan.
The Philippines is among the countries that have benefitted immensely from Japan’s assistance and cooperation programs.
Japan’s commitment to supporting the Philippines extends from large-scale infrastructure projects that have enhanced connectivity and trade to initiatives aimed at improving healthcare and education accessibility.
Meanwhile, on behalf of Governor V. Dennis Socrates, who was unable to attend, Palawan’s provincial government was represented by a distinguished delegation of key officials.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Jethro Palayon, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Joshua Bolusa, Provincial Information Officer Atty. Christian Jay Cojamco, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Abigail Ablaña, and Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff Acting Director Niño Estoya were present to engage in discussions with Consul General Takahiro.
This courtesy call signifies Palawan’s dedication to fostering international relations, promoting economic growth, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration with Japan.
