On its sophomore year, the Philippine-born international pageant Miss Tourism Beauty of the World is now in Palawan visiting different tourist spots from north to south, showcasing the best of the world’s best island.

Pageant Director Sander Andan announced that the pageant’s aim is to promote the different destinations in the country, making it more meaningful not only for the people who will watch the show, but also to the contestant who traveled across many continents just to be here.

He immediately dismissed speculations that the local government is sponsoring a huge amount for this staging saying some of the assistance they have are just in kind and mostly in partnership with private sector.

Formerly called Miss Tourism Beauty of Asia was held a year ago in Camarines Norte wherein Thailand won the crown. This year along with Amos Group of Companies they expanded it to a broader network—-meaning they are expecting candidates all over the world. Cash prize is not yet announced but Andan is sure that the winner will travel to different tourist spots in the Philippines for one year.

The Coronation night is set on Oct 20 at the covered court of El Nido. It is free and open to the public, and they are expecting 20 candidates to join this year’s batch who are arriving on different dates that’s why only 6 were presented to the local media last Oct 7 in Asturias Hotel.

The 6 ladies are Manussanun Limjanphaphap of Thailand, Rina Nagaoka of Japan, Revelyn Milford of New Zealand, Jasmine Paguio of Canada, and representing Philippines, is Anne Marie Apas, a travel host and Beauty contest joiner from Puerto Princesa.

Apas was handpicked by the organizers to be this year’s representative.

She revealed that she underwent training with beauty camp Kagandahang Flores in order to prepare for this pageant as this is her first international exposure as a beauty contender after joining Miss Puerto Princesa and Miss Palawan in 2018.

It will be a very busy week ahead for this ladies as they are scheduled to visit Estrella Falls, Rasa and Arena Island in Narra, Tabon Cave in Quezon for the National Costume shoot, gift giving event at Sofronio Espanola, Pagdiwata immersion shoot in Aborlan, Underground River tour in Puerto Princesa, Swimsuit photo and video shoot in Linapacan.

The coronation night, as per Andan, might have a live streaming broadcast in some TV and video app in the country as negotiations in closing the said deal is on-going as of now.
