Tigerair Taiwan, a subsidiary of Taiwan’s China Airlines, announced Monday it will launch direct flights to Palawan on June 7, which would give it three routes connecting Taiwan and the Philippines.

The Taoyuan-Puerto Princesa flights will operate every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday using an Airbus A320, according to the carrier, which just launched flights to Cebu late last year and Boracay last week.

The airline said it is hoping to further tap into the travel market in Southeast Asia, where the only other city it currently flies to is Bangkok.

After including Palawan in its flight network, Tigerair Taiwan will operate 29 international routes to 22 destinations from Taiwan’s Taoyuan, Taichung or Kaohsiung airports.
