DENR addresses looming election campaign waste

The DENR- Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office raised concern over the election campaign materials that will be left behind after the elections without the existence of an ordinance that addresses how to clean up the campaign posters after the election.

“Yung Green Coalition meron silang advice. So ngayong Month of the Ccean, magiging isang activity natin yung maglilinis ng mga campaign material na iiwan,” said Eriberto Saños, OIC of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office.

Basta we will take initiative,” Saños added. He also encouraged the public to join clean up drives or simply take down campaign materials and other garbage and dispose it properly.

Even some citizens also expressed concerns regarding the campaign materials, “Sobrang dami nga, sana maitapon nang maayos at hindi yung iniiwan lang na nakadikit saka nakakalat sa paligid,” Grace, a college student, told PDN.
