Cable wires theft suspect shot dead

City Police confirmed the death of Titanic “Boy” Batul, the 21-year-old suspect who stole the cable wires of city street lights this morning during follow up operations in Barangay Langogan.

Police Colonel Marion Balonglong, the City Police Director, said Batul grabbed the gun of his police escort while on board a police vehicle and started shooting.

“Oo patay na, nang agaw ng baril during follow up operation po. Dinala din po namin agad sa ospital pero idineklara po s’yang dead on arrival ng mga doctor,” Balonglong said in an interview with Palawan Daily News.

Batul was arrested early morning at Barangay Tagburos by the city police operatives together with the City Anti-Crime Task Force. Follow up operations were conducted after the suspect disclosed the names and whereabouts of his cohorts when the incident happened.

Luckily, no one is hurt from the side of the police operatives. So far, sasakyan lang natin ang maraming tama,” said Balonglong.

Meanwhile, operatives are still conducting follow up operations in the area as the deceased suspect disclosed the names of his cohorts on the illegal act.
