Miss Sta. Monica, Miss San Miguel bags Special Awards for MPP 2022 press conference

Two candidates of the Miss Puerto Princesa 2022 aspirants won special awards during the search’s press conference on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Hue Hotels and Resorts Puerto Princesa.

It is Miss San Miguel, Theressa Mae Bertos, who bagged Face of the Night, and Sta. Monica’s bet, Jonamie Mangcucang as this year’s Miss Body Beautiful.

Miss Body Beautiful Jonamie Mangcucang expressed utmost gratefulness for what she called her “unexpected” win.

“I didn’t expect to win this title because I know to myself that I have a lot of insecurities,” the charmer said and told Palawan Daily that it was just recently that she started to love and accept herself, for which she believes that might have resulted for people to appreciate her too.

“If I win, I will stick to my core, my purpose. I am here because I am passionate for my advocacy of youth empowerment and awareness for teenage pregnancy,” Miss Sta. Monica added.

With the press conference’s Face of the Night, the San Miguel representative said that apart from being thankful for the win, she actually aimed for the higher award.

“I was actually hoping to win the other award, but this title will never degrade me because I know (that) there are other opportunities for the next activities (of the search),” said Bertos.

“With this, I am encouraging everyone (other candidates) to do their best because this is ot the end of our journey. Continue to do great, hope, and your best,” said Miss San Miguel, finalizing her statement.

With the city’s 150th Founding Anniversary and 18th Balayong Festival on March 4, a day after the grand coronation of Miss Puerto Princesa 2022, the new queen is on search, succeeding the ever-lovely reigning queen of Miss Puerto Princesa 2021, Jemimah Joy Zabala.
