Palawan Daily News celebrates first anniversary; Petrosphere now 6 years in operation

Palawan Daily News, a regional weekly newspaper published and owned by Alpha Eight Publishing, recently celebrated its first anniversary after hurdling start-up challenges, filled with success and milestones, while its sister company, Petrosphere Incorporated, is now in its sixth year in business operation.

A training, review and consultancy firm, Petrosphere Incorporated is the only amDepartment of Labor and Employment-accredited Occupational Safety and Health Center safety training organization in MIMAROPA.

It has been conducting mandatory courses nationwide across industries ranging from call center, construction, oil and gas, mining and service with accreditation and approval as Continuing Professional Development provider of the Professional Regulation Commission in nursing, and soon, in teachers.

Since 2013, Petrosphere has been conducting courses and consultancy nationwide and has received three national awards coming from various bodies in the last three years.

In order to thank, recognize and acknowledge the overwhelming support of partners, board of directors, employees, families and friends, the double anniversary celebration was held at Best Western Plus The Ivywall last June 24.

Hardworking employees were awarded with certificates of recognition for their exemplary performance, together with the ever-supportive institutional partners. The celebration was coupled with exciting raffle draws coming from various partners.

There’s a lot of struggles at paninira na aming natatanggap pero sa kabila nun, we stood strong. Sa mga nangyaring iyon e hindi kami nagpatinag bagamat naging inspirasyon at at lakas pa namin ito para makapagbigay ng mas maayos na serbisyo sa inyo,” he added.

Janaban, who is also the design architect of Petrosphere Incorporated, has created a design for the multi-purpose building of Petrosphere – a five-year major plan, which will contain training rooms, executive offices, Palawan Daily News, mini-hotel, restaurant, and pool.

“Sa Palawan Daily News, passion and burning desire to bring you the latest news and update ng lalawigan at rehiyon ang naging fuel namin para patakbuhin ang aming publication. Natututwa kami sa magagandang feedback na aming natatanggap mula sa inyo na aming tagasubaybay. Maaasahan ninyo na mas lalo pa naming gagalingan at pagsusumikapan na makapaghatid ng mas makabuluhan at nakakainspire na mga kwento at balita,” Janaban added.

“Once again, thank you very much to all our readers, supporters, partners, and above all, to God Almighty! Happy Anniversary sa ating lahat,” he said.

On the other hand, Jeffrey C. Gealon, operations manager of Petrosphere Incorporated said, “Warm greetings to all the ladies and gentlemen, as well as, distinguished guests who are present! I thank all the esteemed personalities who have taken their time to attend this momentous occasion. Tonight, we are celebrating our company’s 6th anniversary and I value you all who are sharing this special day with us.”

Gealon has been with the company since 2017 said, “On this fortunate day of completing one more successful year, I’m feeling extremely proud to say that we are constantly getting closer to our bigger dreams as we make the smaller ones true, one by one. So, let’s make this day a treat for ourselves and a reservoir of energy for the coming days so that our chariot of victory doesn’t stop here, but goes on for years.”

“Many more anniversaries, many more success stories and many more achievements are yet to come our way. ‘Till then, let’s just keep up the good work and keep aspiring for more. As they say ‘those who dream big, achieve big’. So, let’s not stop ourselves from dreaming, let’s not settle for less, let’s not restrict ourselves to what is conventional, and let’s not let the failures discourage us. A very happy annual day to all of you,” he added.

It’s a dream come true for Engr. Harthwell Capistrano, the CEO / President and Board Chairman of Petrosphere Incorporated, who is also the editor in chief of Palawan Daily News.

“We all have dreams in life. We just have to believe in our dreams. What we learned all throughout these ordeals, is to have the overwhelming and extreme faith, to kneel down, and talk to God, especially in times where we face the wall blankly. There were times that we were about to give up, losing hope, but that was the time, that when the going gets tough, the tough get going,” said Engr. Capistrano.

“We did not have enough money to start the training center. There were sleepless nights, a lot of sleepless nights. A lot of pains, sweat, and blood – but God is so great, we were able to surpass them all,” he added.

Palawan Daily News was founded because of the team’s burning passion in writing and commitment to report the truth in this highly biased world using strategies that are catalystic, innovative and prescient. The success of Palawan Daily New’s first 12 months of truth-telling are greatly contributed by their people –their important assets who are talented, selfless and trustworthy.

“No words could describe how thankful we are to all our readers, supporters, partners, families, and above all, to God Almighty! We promise to do better, bringing you quality, fair and balanced newsworthy stories to help shape a better world,” said Engr. Capistrano.

“To all of our sponsors and partners, maraming salamat po, especially to the Philippine Information Agency – Palawan Office, Sir Orlan Jabagat and Ma’am Leila Dagot, to Yamang Bukid Farm, SM Puerto Princesa City, Berong Nickel Corporation, DMCI Power, PALECO, Ma’am Dal White of Villa del Mar Beach Resort, Standard Insurance, Sir Butch Hontanosas, JCI Puerto Princesa Oil, Kiwanis Club of Young Professionals, Best Western Plus The Ivywall Hotel, The Hue Hotels and Resorts Puerto Princesa City, Microtel by Wyndham Puerto Princesa City, Palawan State University, and to all our families and friends,” Engr. Capistrano added.
