Culion Sanitarium and General Hospital seeks protective gears from donors

The Culion Sanitarium and General Hospital(CSGH)  appeals to the Palaweños and to all concerned individuals to donate  personal protective equipment(PPE) for their hospital workers and frontliners as persons under investigation (PUI’s) from Calamian Island Group were sent to the facility this week.

“[We are now] accepting PPEs [donations] para po sa hospital dito sa isla!” according to the post of Dr. Neal Torre, chief, Professional Medical Division of CSGH to his social media account.

CSGH Nurse Yvette Reyes told Palawan Daily News (PDN) team that anyone who wants to donate may course through their donations at Provincial Epidemiological Surveillance Unit (PESU) in  the City of Puerto Princesa.

“They may coordinate with Sir Omie [at cellphone number] 0977-088-0148. [And they can] send the supplies to Palawan Provincial DOH Office in Bgy. Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City (tabi lang po ng PENRO),”Reyes said.

She said that the donor must   write the recipient’s name on the boxes, provide an inventory of the donation inside the boxes and address it to CSGH Task Force Covid  chief, Dr. Maria Regina Calimag.

According to a source that because of the scarcity of supplies, health frontliners of CSGH are now using  improvised PPE’s in order to protect themselves when attending the PUI’s, like cloth for masks and raincoat as medical gowns.
