The blessing ceremony of a cutting-edge Provincial Government Fire Truck at the PDRRMO Headquarters was held yesterday, November 14 at Barangay Irawan, Puerto Princesa City.
Rev. Fr. Arnold Mendaro presided over the blessing.
The event coincided with the execution of an Incident Command System (ICS) Executive Course, organized by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and headed by PDRRM Officer Jeremias Y. Alili.
The occasion was attended by Governor V. Dennis M. Socrates, along with Department Heads and Program Managers from the Provincial Government.
Valued at P5.8 million, the fire truck will be stationed at the Capitol Compound, ready to swiftly respond to unforeseen disasters, particularly fire incidents that may occur within the Capitol building. Furthermore, it can serve as augmentation support for the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in responding to fire incidents in the city.
PDRRMO is also set to conduct training sessions for personnel handling the new fire truck, ensuring efficient and effective disaster response capabilities in Palawan.
