TESDA Director General inaugurates new training facility in Palawan

Roxas, Palawan – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General Secretary, Danilo P. Cruz, arrived in Palawan today, May 30, to grace the blessing and inauguration of the newly constructed TESDA Provincial Training Center – Palawan.
The event, held in Barangay Magara, Roxas town, marked a significant milestone in the province’s commitment to providing quality technical education and skills training.
The TESDA Provincial Training Center – Palawan aims to address the growing demand for skilled workers in various industries by offering comprehensive vocational courses and training programs.
The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with modern training equipment and facilities to ensure that students receive hands-on experience in their chosen fields.

Cruz expressed his enthusiasm for the inauguration, emphasizing the importance of technical education and skills development in driving economic growth and creating employment opportunities.
He praised the collaborative efforts of TESDA, local government units, and other stakeholders in bringing this training center to fruition, highlighting the potential it holds in empowering individuals and contributing to the overall development of Palawan.
During the ceremony Cruz delivered a keynote address, underscoring TESDA’s commitment to providing accessible and relevant technical education and skills training to Filipinos nationwide.
He emphasized the role of TESDA Provincial Training Centers in bridging the skills gap and equipping individuals with the necessary competencies to succeed in their chosen careers.
The newly inaugurated TESDA Provincial Training Center – Palawan will offer a wide range of courses, including driving, masonry, organic agriculture production, carpentry, solar nightlight and post lamp, electrical installation and maintenance, shielded metal arc welding, culinary arts, trainers methodology level 1 and 2, and community-based trainers methodology course. These programs aim to cater to the diverse needs and interests of the local community, aligning with the evolving demands of the job market.
A total of 1,205 Palaweño beneficiaries have been projected by TESDA for all the courses that has an estimated total assistance amount of more than P4.8M.
Local government officials headed by Palawan Governor Victorino Dennis Socrates, representatives from partner organizations, and members of the community attended the event to witness the momentous occasion.
They expressed their gratitude to TESDA for their continuous support and commitment to promoting technical education and skills development in Palawan.
The inauguration ceremony opened with the symbolic cutting of the ribbon, the blessing of the training center, and the unveiling of the marker.
The center is now ready to welcome its first batch of students, who will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and pursue meaningful careers in their respective fields.
