50 village chiefs attend localized peace talks forum in Romblon

Police and military officials met on July 13 with some 50 village chiefs from the municipalities of Bulalacao and Bongabong to discuss the localized peace talks with the rebels.

The forum was organized to inform the attendees of the intention of President Rodrigo Duterte to offer a hand of peace within the ambit of the six (6) conditions: that the talks to be held in the country, no coalition government, ceasefire that will hold, no third-party facilitator, no revolutionary taxation/extortion and arson, and Communist Terrorist Group to limit movements of members within their camps.

Police Regional Office MIMAROPA under the stewardship of PCSUPT EMMANUEL LUIS D LICUP, and the 203rd Brigade, Philippine Army headed by BGEN ANTONIO G. PARLADE, Jr., also the concurrent Senior Military Adviser on Peace Process, initiated the forum.

Also present during the forum were: PCSUPT ROILAN F QUIDILLA, Deputy Regional Director for Administration; PSSUPT LORENO B DETRAN, JR., Regional Chief Directorial Staff; COL. ANTONIO R. LASTIMADO, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 203rd Brigade; PSSUPT CHRISTOPHER C BIRUNG, Provincial Director of Oriental Mindoro; Mayor Eugene Malaluan of Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro; Provincial Officer of DILG, Mrs. Minda Mendoza; and the Chiefs of Police of the two municipalities—-PCINSP BENIGNO C CONDE of Bongabong Municipal Police Station and PCINSP LORENCE P BATALLER of Bulalacao Municipal Police Station.
