PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — The Regional Development Council (RDC) – Mimaropa recently conducted the Regional Tourism Investment Forum aimed at identifying tourism investment potentials in the region and to thresh-out issues and concerns impeding tourism development.
The forum was held in Puerto Princesa City and was participated by the RDC members, representatives from local government units (LGUs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), and Palawan Tourism Council.
Resource persons from the Iloilo Economic Development Foundation led by former DOT Sec. Narzalina Lim discussed private sector investments, elements that enhance investments in the sector, and the important role of the local government units in creating a hospitable and enabling environment for investors.
The forum gathered inputs through group workshops that tackled issues and concerns on tourism products and services; tourism investments promotion; infrastructure support; and, governance.
All participants signed the declaration of commitment to advocate Mimaropa as a destination of choice. (NEDA-Mimaropa)
