The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) MIMAROPA Regional Monitoring Enforcement Team (RMET) spearheaded the destruction of confiscated uncertified products in Barangay Sta. Lourdes Landfill, May 10, 2019.

The confiscated products include 2,502 pieces of assorted sized blue and orange UPVC, 35 pieces of receptacles, 3 pieces of motorcyle inner tubes and another 44 pieces of UPVC blue pipes for potable water. The total cost of the confiscated products is P164,573.25.

Welson T. Paz, Trade and Industry Specialist of DTI, said these products were confiscated from four establishments in Puerto Princesa City inr the first quarter of the year. The products lacked of the Philippine Standard (PS) or the International Commodity Clearance (ICC) marking.

Aside from the confiscation of the “uncertified products,” the establishments will be fined.

Paz reminded the business owners to be aware of their responsibilities regarding the proper PS and ICC markings on their products as well as the products that are monitored by DTI.

He said
