ARACELI, Palawan — A new eco-friendly municipal hall will be constructed in Barangay Tinintinan of this town that will house the local government offices of the municipality.

Equipped with solar-power panels and day-lighting system for natural illumination, the local government building will also feature conference, audio and session rooms.

The ground breaking ceremony and signing of the contract of the planned two-storey building was held last week and was led by Mayor Noel Beronio together with local officials. The new municipal hall will replace the 30-year-old building that already has a weakened foundation.

Mayor Beronio said the old municipal building will be renovated and converted into indoor facilities, hostel for guests and visitors, and office of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

The P45-million new building is expected to be fully completed within more or less seven to eight months, which will be constructed by EV Villaos Trading and Construction with joint venture partner WACCS Construction and Trading.
