270 runners join JCI Puerto Princesa Oil healthy lifestyle event

Aiming to create outdoor activities to promote healthy lifestyle, JCI Puerto Princesa Oil held the Amos Ta’ Run Baragat Bagat sa SM which was participated by 273 runners in SM City Puerto Princesa, June 23.

The marathon was divided into three categories: 3K, 5K and 10K. 112 runners participated in the 3K category, 100 in the 5K run and 61 in the 10K category.

The 3K route starts from SM City Puerto Princesa through Rizal Avenue up to Brgy San Miguel and going back to SM City Puerto Princesa through San Juan Road and eventually to Malvar Street.

5K runners also covered the same route up to Brgy San Miguel but they have to continue towards the City Coliseum in Brgy San Pedro going back to SM City Puerto Princesa through the Malvar Street.

On the other hand, 10K runners used the same route through City Coliseum continuing up to Brgy San Manuel where their turn-around was located going back to the starting line also through the Malvar Street.

Karl Dylan Aquino, Project Chair of the activity, said the objective of the activity is to promote healthy lifestyle and raise fund for various projects.

“Our objective is to create an outdoor activity for Palaweños as we promote healthy lifestyle and to raise fund for the Oplan Kaagapay Project and JCI Puerto Princesa Oil community development projects,” said the Project Chair.

To further heat up the event, a Dance Zumba Session led by Zin Darwin Kuhutan was held after the marathon.
