UP Diliman ROTC and UPCAO deliver care packages to WPS frontliners

The University of the Philippines National Service Training Program (NSTP) Diliman Office, along with the UP Diliman ROTC Unit and UP ROTC Corps of Sponsors (Diliman), conducted the “Courage in Our Veins: Blood Donation Drive and West Philippine Sea (WPS) Project.” Partnering with UP Vanguard Incorporated (UPVI) – Makati Chapter, UP Vanguard Fraternity, UP-MMDA-Vanguard (UPMV) K9 Corps, UPVI Gun Club, and UP Cadet Alumni Organization (UPCAO).
Together, they delivered 600 care packages to frontliners in the West Philippine Sea.
UPCAO Founder Ms. Maria Christina Cecelia Hernandez personally handed over the packages to WESCOM at its headquarters, accompanied by Mr. Renold Verano from UPVI-Makati Chapter.
WESCOM Chief Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos expressed gratitude, acknowledging the support’s positive impact on soldiers’ morale and the assistance it provides to their families.
Colonel Pio Gomez received the care packages on behalf of WPS frontliners, emphasizing the importance of these contributions.
The packages, containing a variety of essentials, will be distributed to recipients in Kalayaan Municipality, the nation’s remotest island municipality in its western border, with the help of Philippine Navy vessels.
The “Courage in Our Veins” initiative exemplifies UP’s commitment to national service and supporting WESCOM’s mission in the West Philippine Sea.
