The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in cooperation with the Municipality of Roxas, Palawan distributed seaweed farm inputs to 200 fisherfolk affected by Typhoon Uwan and Tino in November 2025.

Substantial number of fisherfolk in this town was affected during the onslaught of weather disturbances Uwan and Tino that hit the country late last year, based on the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) report of the province of Palawan.

Roxas Mayor Pedy Sabando said that the distribution was conducted this morning through the initiatives of the BFAR Palawan fisheries office led by Mario Basaya.

Some 200 beneficiaries from Green Island in Barangay Tumarbong received the farm inputs which the mayor said will help these fisherfolk in jumpstarting their livelihood activities specifically in the propagation and production of seaweeds.
