The Coast Guard District Palawan teamed up with the crew of M/Y PalauSport to conduct a medevac mission off the coast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on Monday, April 15.
The mission’s target was Mr. Philip Chan, a 71-year-old Canadian citizen, who encountered health complications during a diving expedition. Chan had inadvertently swallowed seawater, leading to a rapid deterioration in his condition despite initial onboard medical aid.
Responding to urgent distress signals from M/Y PalauSport, the Coast Guard swiftly deployed HSRB – 006, manned with highly trained personnel from Coast Guard Station Central Palawan (CGSCP) and Coast Guard Medical Clinic Palawan.
The Coast Guard executed a seamless transfer, safely evacuatingChan and his companion, Mrs. Dagmar Veronica Chan, from M/Y PalauSport to the rescue boat.
Upon reaching PPC Port, the patient was swiftly transferred to Palawan Adventist Hospital for further evaluation and medical treatment.
