Information and Communication Technology (ICT) practitioners, major telecommunication companies, business sector and delegation from neighboring countries of Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia will attend the ICT CEO forum and Livelihood Exhange (LIVEX) 2019 on June 24-26, 2019.
The activity will showcase ICT innovations in tourism, cross boarder e-commerce, data protection, ICT infrastructure as well the start-ups and innovations of the Brunie Indonesia Malaysia Philippines-East Asia Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) which the Philippines is a member country.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), and Provincial Government of Palawan initiated the consultative meeting on May 27, 2019, in preparation of the BIMP-EAGA CEO Forum and LIVEX.
Engr. Alan Silor, Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns of the DICT; Ernesto Tomas, Division Chief-Investment and Promotion OF Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA); and Director Cheryl Ortega of DICT-LC3 led the conduct of the consultative meeting together with the different government agencies and offices.
The group discussed ICT cluster organizing group, status of working committees, ICT CEO Forum Agenda during the 7th BIMP EAGA Cluster Provisional Agenda and Program Flow.
“Kailangan maplano ang event na ito especially mga Business Leaders and Private Sector ang participants dito, in terms of tasks, security, plans and targets, logistics dapat maayos… At the same time, pinili namin ang Palawan and Puerto Princesa as our venue for the big event for the promotion na rin ng mga tourist destinations dito at siyempre para maka-attract pa ng potential investors…,” said Asec. Silor.
Among the agenda of the ICT CEO Forum meeting of the BIMP EAGA are the current initiatives and new proposals of the private sectors for the conduct of the business matching activity in relation to the technology innovations.
The DICT will spearhead the activity together with the Provincial Government of Palawan, City Government of Puerto Princesa, partners from the private sectors and academe.
