The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Palawan 3rd District Engineering Office proudly announces the successful completion of a vital road construction project in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
The recently finished project, spanning 2,842 meters and linking Puerto Princesa South Road and Irawan-Tagburos Road in Barangay Sicsican, contributes to the city’s development by creating a By-Pass and Diversion Road.
Engineer Amelia B. Fajardo, the head of Palawan 3rd District, highlighted the comprehensive nature of the endeavor, encompassing earthwork, subbase and base course, surface source, Bridge Construction, drainage, slope protection structures, and miscellaneous structures.
The primary objectives of establishing a diversion route between Puerto Princesa South Road (PPSR) and Irawan-Tagburos Road (ITR) were twofold: expanding the road network and facilitating seamless transportation of goods and services.
This strategic initiative is anticipated to bolster local businesses, attract new investments, and draw in customers from neighboring towns.
Funded through the Fiscal Year 2023 Infrastructure Program of the Department, this road construction venture stands as a testament to the commitment to economic development by improving access to previously hard-to-reach areas.
