March 16, 2022, marks the launching of Hands Off Our Children Movement Inc. Palawan Chapter, a non-government organization focused on raising awareness on the “deceptive recruitment” of CPP-NPA-NDF among schools and universities.
HOOC is also engaged in campaigning online with the help of different agencies embracing the whole of a Nation Approach of Executive Order no. 70 or ELCAC.
PCSD Director, Atty. Teodoro Jose S. Matta, pledged to support the group. “Sana ay mas lalo pang lumago at ma-empower ang inyong organisasyon. Kami sa PCSD ay inilalaan ang aming Education Extension Division upang magamit ang aming resources sa inyong mga adbokasiya. Tutugon kami sa inyong tawag,” Matta stated.
DILG Provincial Director Virgilio S. Tagle also committed to supporting the movement.
“Handang tumulong ang DILG,. Full support kami sa inyong mga gawain at sa mga oras na ito ay ikino-commit ko ang aking sarili sa pagtulong bilang isa ring magulang,” Tagle said.
The members of Hands Off Our Children Movement expressed their gratitude to Palawan Task Force ELCAC for their undying support and commitment.
The organization is composed of parents of the children or students that are victims of the deceptive recruitment of CPP-NPA-NDF in schools and universities. It started on July 2019 and now spreading to members throughout the country.
The activity was attended by Palawan Task Force ELCAC including PCSD Director Atty. Teodoro Matta, DILG Provincial Director Virgilio Tagle, PSWDO Abigail Ablaña, representative officers of 3rd Marine Brigade and Provincial PNP, Hand Off Our Children represented by National president Mrs. Elvie Caalaman.
