Palawan – The provincial government here through the Provincial Treasurer’s Office released a Final Notice of Delinquency for delinquent real property taxpayers in Coron and Busuanga.

The taxes cover residential, agricultural, commercial, industrial, and other classes of properties, including improvement of machinery, unless exempted by existing laws.

According to the Provincial Treasurer and Chairman of the Provincial Committee on Public Auction Elino Mondragon, the final notice signals the first step of their office to implement a public auction sale.

Mondragon said that aside from the regular notices they are sending to the concerned taxpayers, their names are also listed on barangay offices in their respective towns to remind them of their obligations.

The Notice of Final Delinquency comes after the listed real taxpayers failed to settle their financial obligations in Coron and Busuanga’s Municipal Treasurer’s Offices (MTO).

In addition to the regularly owed property taxes, surcharges were also subjected. This comes after their MTO’s effort to collect overdue taxes from taxpayers who had ignored bills.

To remove their names from the list posted, taxpayers need to contact their MTO and pay the taxes owed or otherwise, a Warrant of Levy will be issued by the PTO that will make their properties listed under Public Auction Sale.
