The Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Tuesday, September 7 approved the two similar resolutions. These resolutions aim to urge Barangay Captains and Local Chief Executives in the 23 municipalities of Palawan to strictly enforced the implementation of the guidelines issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), executive orders, provincial ordinances, and other guidelines relating to minimum public health standards.
According to Board Member Ferdinand Zaballa, author of the said resolutions, these also aim to remind all leaders from the municipality to the barangay level in the province regarding the ongoing fight against COVID-19.
Although the Provincial Government continues to work and support programs and initiatives to fight and to end the spread of COVID-19, there are still a few who test positive for the virus.
The Board Member stressed that one of the reasons he sees why the problem with COVID-19 cannot be ended is because of the complacency of some barangays to the implementation of the guidelines.
