The Provincial Government of Palawan, under the leadership of Governor V. Dennis M. Socrates, conducted the 6th Arampangan sa Kapitolyo at the Governor’s Conference Room on June 30.
The event focused on discussing the social services program of the Palawan Provincial Government and featured Governor Socrates, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (PSWDO) Abigail Ablaña, and Provincial Information Officer Atty. Christian Jay Cojamco, along with members of the local media.
The Arampangan sa Kapitolyo, an initiative launched by the provincial government, aims to promote transparency and ensure effective communication between the government and the media. The event provides an avenue for open dialogue and the exchange of information on various programs and projects implemented by the government, with a specific focus on various issues, programs and services.
During the 6th Arampangan sa Kapitolyo, Socrates highlighted the significance of social services in uplifting the lives of Palawan’s residents. He emphasized the government’s commitment to prioritize the welfare of the people by providing comprehensive and efficient social programs.
PSWDO Ablaña presented an overview of the social services programs currently being implemented by the Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Palawan. She shared updates on initiatives related to healthcare, education, livelihood, and assistance for marginalized sectors of society.
Ablaña stressed the importance of these programs in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable members of the community such as senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), women, solo parents, the youth, and former rebels, as well as the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) and Cash-for-Work programs, the Social Health Insurance program, and other government services, ensuring that no one is left behind in every community.
“Ang Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office ay isa sa mga frontline offices ng ating Pamahalaang Panlalawigan. We have 16 programs and 3 facilities na we cater the vulnerable sectors. Isa sa mga priority programs ng provincial government ang social welfare, kaya halos lahat ng ating mga programa para sa ating mga kababayan ay may makikita kayong pagbabago at innovations para marating natin ‘yung geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas,” Ablaña said.
Governor Socrates, on the other hand, shared that the recently concluded Baragatan sa Palawan Festival was successful, and he wholeheartedly thanked the Palaweños for their participation.
Before the event concluded, Socrates reaffirmed the government’s dedication to the well-being of the people and promised to continue implementing programs that promote inclusivity and progress.
