The 6th Civil Relations Group, Civil Relations, AFP hosted the Change of Command Ceremony via VTC on July 23, 10 in the morning at 6th CRG, Camp General Artemio Ricarte, Western Command, Puerto Princesa City.
Major General Manuel Varias Sequitin Philippine Army, Commander of the Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines presided over the turn-over of leadership from the outgoing Commander, Major Rommel S. Panganiban, Philippine Army to now the new commander, Lieutenant Colonel Rey M Polinar Philippine Navy-Marine.
LTCOL Polinar was installed as the 21st Commander of the 6th CRG. The new Commander is not new to Palawan since he was assigned as an Intelligence Officer of 3rd Marine Brigade under the Command of BGen Andre M Costales Philippine Navy-Marine way back in 2013 to 2014. From then on, he held the position as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, C3 in the CRSAFP.
During the ceremony, Major Panganiban said, “As 6th CRG, we provided support based on what we do best to support the Western Command and different Joint Task Forces and Palawan PTF ELCAC in information related capabilities, as well as collaborate with the appropriate government agencies and private individuals. This is where the 6th CRG guiding words emerge: collaborate, inform, and influence.”
In his remarks Major Panganiban extends his immense gratitude to the Enlisted Personnel, Civilian Human Resource, Joint CMO Task Group and stakeholders particularly to the ELCAC Stratcom Clusters, KADRE-Palawan, SAMBAYANAN-Palawan, and PIGLAS-Palawan that actively supported the 6th Civil Relation Group to accomplish its mission and goals.
LtCol Polinar took the challenge as the new Commander and will pursue the mission of the 6th CRG, CRSAFP with zeal, through the collective effort of all the personnel in his Command and the stakeholders as well.
