The project aims to provide clean and safe drinking water to Barangays Bunog and Iraan in Rizal as well as in Quinlogan and Calumpang in Quezon, where high numbers of indigenous tribes are living.

The Magtayob Water Systems Project is the 58th water project that was completed under the administration of Governor Jose Alvarez and Vice Governor Dennis Socrates. It is one of the many solutions they have come up to solve inadequate supply of clean water in the town of Rizal.

Quezon Mayor Joselito Ayala said during his speech that this is one of the residents’ wish that finally came true after so many administrations have passed in the island province.

Ayala also stated that a lot of people got sick and have died due to uncertainty of the safety of their previous water supply like rivers and deep wells.

Currently, there are six water systems in the town of Quezon while 2 in Rizal, Palawan.

Vice Governor Socrates ensured the Palaweños that there are more water system projects in line and will be finished before the administration of Alvarez ends.
