Acting Presidential Spokesperson Karlo Nograles explained the reasons behind the “No-Vax, No-Ride” policy that was officially implemented starting January 17, 2022 by the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

When asked if the “No-Vax, No-Ride” policy would also be a permanent mandate, he answered, “Hindi po, gaya ng sinabi, kasalukuyang pinapatupad lamang ito sa National Capital Region (NCR) upang makontrol ang paglabas at paggalaw ng mamamayan.”

Issued by Secretary Arthur Tugade of the Department of Transportation on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, the policy will only be effective in the National Capital Region, specifically with those with Alert Level 3 and up, said by Transport Undersecretary Artemio Tuazon.
