P4/kWh na taas presyo ng kuryente sa Palawan, inalmahan

Mabigat umanong pasanin sa taong bayan ang P4.00 per kilowatt hour na taas presyo sa singil ng kuryente sa lungsod at buong lalawigan ng Palawan kung ito ay matutuloy.

Ayon kay City Councilor Rolando Amurao, malaki masyado ang P4.00 na dagdag at baka hindi kayanin ng mga consumer ng Paleco o Palawan Electric Cooperative.

Dahil dito ay pag-uusapan umano nila sa Sangguniang Panlunsod kung anu ang magandang gawin para harangin ang plano ng Department of Energy na tanggalin ang subsidy sa mga off-grid areas tulad dito sa Palawan.

Sinabi pa ni Amurao na bagama’t wala na silang sesyon para sa ngayong taon ay maari namang silang mag-Executive Meeting at kaniyang imumungkahi na sumulat ang punung ehekutibo sa DOE para mapigilan ito.

Ayon kay OIC manager Napoleon Cortez, kung itutuloy ng DOE ang pagalis ng subsidy ay tataas ng hanggang apat na piso ang singil sa kuryente

Matatandaang sa isang panayam sinabi ni Energy Undersecretary Felix William Fuentebella na bibigyan lamang ng 2 taon bago bawiin ang subsidy sa mga lugar na meroon umanong rich off grid tulad ng Palawan, Mindoro, Marinduque at Romblon.
