The Local Government of Roxas intends to open its tourism destinations to tourists and visitors starting October 2025.

Mayor Pedy Sabando has directed the Municipal Tourism Office, headed by Special Project Officer for Tourism Ronel Bernaldez, that starting October 2025, their town will start accepting tourists by offering tour packages to the beautiful spots.

Sabando believed that by strengthening the town’s potentials in terms of tourism they can achieve what other municipalities in Palawan have.

LGU-Roxas said that it has already conducted site assessment in different potential tourism destinations in preparation for its opening.

Among the important concepts presented during the assessment includes environmental protection, community participation and strengthening local economy through responsible tourism. The initiative is part of the LGU’s efforts in pushing for sustainable tourism development in their municipality.

Mayor Sabando believes that by focusing on developing tourism, health and education as well as in agriculture and infrastructure, this will significantly contribute to uplift the status of their municipality, as well as the social and economic conditions of its inhabitants.
