The City Council will invite on Monday during the question hour the persons in-charge for the distribution of financial assistance of senior citizens in Puerto Princesa.

Councilor Peter Maristela requested this Monday during the regular session, which he said aims to determine the system of distribution of the allowance among the elderlies.

He requested that representatives from the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), City Mayor’s Office (CMO), Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), and some presidents of senior citizens’ associations in different city barangays be invited at the council next Monday.

Maristela reiterated that learning about the system of distribution will also give the City Council the chance to extend necessary help.

Background: It was during the last quarter last year when Mayor Lucilo Bayron has vetoed Maristela’s resolution that seeks to conduct a study on the possible implementation of the cash card system in the City Government’s distribution of allowance to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWD).
