City eyes digital payout for allowances

The City Government of Puerto Princesa announced that it is considering to implement the release quarterly allowances to senior citizens, person with disabilities, solo parents, barangay tanod, and other target sectors through digital payout system.

This is in line with Mayor Lucilo Bayron’s “Mapagkalingang Programa” that provides quarterly allowances to senior citizens, solo parents, person with disabilities, barangay tanod, including that for teachers and police.

Mayor Bayron said that in the future releases of city funded allowances they will release it through bank or through digital platforms such as Gcash, Maya and PalawanPay.

“Layunin ng programang ito na gawing mas mabilis, mas ligtas, at mas maginhawa ang pagkuha ng ayuda lalo na para sa mga se nior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, barangay tanod, uniformed personnel, teaching/non-teaching staff at iba pang sektor na kabilang sa Mapagkalingang Programa,” the city government said.

These recipients of city -funded allowances such as senior citizens, solo parents, PWDs, received a quarterly P3,000 allowance, which Mayor Bayron said that he intend to make it P6,000 quarterly starting next year, 2027.

He emphasized that by adopting digital payout, it will make the distribution fast, organized, efficient and hassle-free.

“Sa pamamagitan ng digital payout system, mababawasan ang mahabang pila, mas mapapadali ang pagproseso ng allowances, at masisiguro ang mas episyente at organisadong distribusyon ng tulong pinansyal ng pamahalaang lungsod,” the city government explained.
