PUERTO PRINCESA CITY – A new school for kids has been formally launched recently to cater to the growing needs for quality education in this city. Eureka Development Center (EDC) has finally opened its doors to young questers on June 13, 2018.
A progressive, holistic and multidimensional learning center initially offers classes for Baby Nursery – Einstein’s Little Explorers (3 – 3 1/2 y. o.), Nursery 1 – Galileo’s Brave Astros (3 1/2 – 4 1/2 y. o.) and Nursery 2 Newton’s Prime Movers (3 1/2 – 4 1/2 y. o.) for SY 2018-2019. The school is located at Atis Road, Purok Matapat, Bgy. San Jose, Puerto Princesa City.
With its philosophy, EDC believes that every child is a unique individual who needs a stimulating atmosphere to grow and develop holistically, it is the institution’s desire to serve the children achieve their fullest potentials by providing them active, satisfying, enjoyable and progressive learning experiences in a multidimensional setting.
The curricula are carefully designed and emphasize the importance of value formation and soft skills of the children. Activities are enjoyable and encourage children to EXPLORE, DISCOVER, LEARN & CREATE.
The school facilities include fully air-conditioned classrooms, indoor and outdoor play areas, book corners, toilets in each classroom, teacher aide for each section, parking area and waiting lounge.
The inaugural ceremony was held on June 23 with the officiating priest, Rev. Fr. Camilo C. Caabay, Parish Priest of San Jose Parish.
Gracing the occasion are known couples that are both professors of mathematics who are also considered advisers of EDC such as Dr. Leo Lactuan (Western Philippines University), Dr. Lerna Ayco-ret (Palawan State University), Prof. Imelda R. Lactuan (Palawan State University) and Prof. Bonifacio Ayco (Western Philippines University).
The school is owned and managed by Engr. and Mrs. Jerico Padrones, who were both former instructors of Palawan State University.
