Far Eastern Air Transport’s (EF327) landed its first commercial flight from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Puerto Princesa City International Airport (PPCIA) with 162 passengers on board on Saturday, January 19 at around 6:10 in the evening.
According to Aileen Cynthia Amurao, City Tourism Head of Puerto Princesa, It is a chartered flight budgeted by China Airlines. Its operating schedule starts from January 19 to January 23 only.
Amurao said that this will help promotes the tourism of Puerto Princesa that is now well known around the world, “Dagdag turista yan kaya dagdag na kita para sa lungsod dahil iikot yan ng lungsod kaya nga kinakabit namin yung programa nating tinatawag pong City Wide Landscaping Program, kinakailangan gawin na nating touristic yung ating mga barangay.”
She encouraged all the locals to contribute in their own little way to help the City Tourism Sector in promoting the tourism of Puerto Princesa.
“Mag isip sila kung paano sila makapagcontribute na maentertain natin yung mga turista, mabigyan natin ng mas magandang reception. Dapat lang na maiayos natin ang ating lugar, yung mga basura natin yung mga kabahayan kinakailangan ilandscape natin para naman maging maaliwalas ang ating kapaligiran, maging kaaya-aya, maging tunay na attraction ang ating lungsod” she said.
She also assured that the tourist spots in the City of Puerto Princesa is enough to accommodate the continued arrival of the tourist, “Malaki ang aking siyudad at marami pa tayong unexplored pero nililimitahan natin kaya nakita ninyo sinasabayan natin ng pagbubukas ng ibang tourist destination para maikalat natin yung mga turista at mas maraming kababayan natin ang makinabang dahil yan rin talaga ang adhikain at direksyon ng ating punong lungsod na ibaba ang benipisyo ng turista sa mga maliliit nating kababayan.”
Eastar Air (Boeing 737-800) from Incheon International Airport (IIA) in Korea is the first international flight in the Puerto Princesa International Airport, followed by Far Eastern Air Transport (EF327) and expected the Royal Air to mount its daily flights to Puerto Princesa on February 15.
