City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron urged the city government employees to help pump-prime the local economy and spend their Christmas bonus in support of local businesses operating in malls, markets and shopping centers, and other commercial establishments in the locality.
During the flag ceremony yesterday morning, Mayor Bayron informed the city officials and employees that he also encouraged the mall management and tenants to hold a bargain sale to attract more buyers and help increase economic activities in the city.
“Nitong week na nakaraan ay umikot kami sa mga malls, kinausap namin ‘yung management at tenants para mag-sale. Mag sale para ma-overcome ang fear ng mga tao na pumunta sa mga tindahan. Kasi napapanahon na buksan natin yung ating trade, commerce, and services para ang ating economy ay magsimula ng gumalaw at umusad,” he said.
Mayor Bayron stated that the city government employees’ year-end bonus and cash gifts worth P59 Million could help stimulate economic activities that will help the city’s businesses.
“Kung gagamitin natin ‘yan para patakbuhin ang ating economy ay makakatulong ‘yan,” the mayor said.
Most of the city’s business establishments have been affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) due to COVID-19.
As the local economy slowly reopened, the City Government deployed COVID-19 Marshals, mostly city government employees, barangay officials, and staff to malls, supermarkets, public markets, talipapas, offices, and other public places to ensure that proper health and safety protocols are properly observed by the public.
Mayor Bayron further said that this December 2020, his administration is willing to spearhead activities that will help increase economic activities that will help and support the city’s business sector.
“Kailangan talaga na gastusan, kasi pinakamagandang simula ito para mabuksan ang ating economy,” he explained.
