Ipinagdiwang ng pamahalaang panlungsod ng Puerto Princesa ang “International Coastal Clean-up” bilang pagsunod sa Proclamation No. 470 series of 2003. Sa pangunguna ni Mayor Lucilo Rodriguez Bayron, isinagawa ang “Longest EM Mudball Throwing” sa Puerto Princesa Baywalk, kung saan kasama ang 2,510 na participants mula sa iba’t ibang sektor.

Layunin ng aktibidad na ito na linisin ang baybayin ng Puerto Princesa at mabawasan ang coliform bacteria sa karagatan. Dumalo rin ang mga kinatawan mula sa iba’t ibang organisasyon para magbigay ng suporta.

Bukod dito, isinagawa rin ang paglilinis sa apat na coastal barangays – Brgy. Mandaragat, Pagkakaisa, Bagong Silang, at Bagong Sikat – kung saan nakolekta ang 19,615 kilograms ng basura.

Ang pagdiriwang ng “International Coastal Clean-up” ay naglalayong pangalagaan ang kalikasan at yaman ng karagatan sa Puerto Princesa.
