To serve the ever-growing traffic of tourists particularly the millenials, Royal Air Philippines launched its Cebu to Puerto Princesa and vice versa route on Monday, May 20.

Around 2:05 in the afternoon, Royal Air flight RW-646 landed at the Puerto Princesa City International Airport carrying 70 passengers from Mactan Cebu International Airport, which marked its Cebu-PPC flight’s first touchdown on Palawan capital.

“This one is a four-times-a-week flight that we have now … this is Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday,” said Ed Novilla, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Philippines, in an interview.

Novilla explained that this new flight route is the fulfillment of their promise two months ago during the PPC – Clark inaugural flight.

“Remember we were here March 4? And I mentioned that in May we’ll ‘gonna fly Cebu – Princesa? This is fulfilling the promise to Puerto Princesa that we’ll gonna bring in a second flight,” he said.

Novilla also discussed Royal Air’s uniqueness from other airlines. “The difference wise is that we’re wearing the live your journey, it’s not about us, it’s not about the airline, it’s about the passengers. That’s what we’re translating it, they have their own stories and we want them to tell their own stories while they travel with us,” he discussed.

Royal Air Philippines targets millennial travelers. “The uniqueness now of the passengers, how would you call the millennials. We’re attracting people aging from 18 to 35 years old, that’s 70% of those people who book to us, that’s basically the market. These are the guys who are the ‘do-it-yourself’ people who would go to one destinations without even a hotel booking,” he added.

Entering the Philippine commercial sky race last December 14, 2018, the airline flew for the first time with the Clark – Caticlan and vice versa flight.

Before entering the commercial operations, Royal Air Philippines’ services started as early as August 2002 as an air charter service.

Royal Air Philippines flies with their three 97-seater AVRO 146-RJ100 aircraft.

Aside from the new PPC – Cebu vice versa flight, they also fly Clark – Caticlan vice versa, Clark – Puerto Princesa, Manila – Cebu vice versa, Davao – Cebu vice versa, Cebu – Cagayan de Oro vice versa and Cebu – Caticlan vice versa.
