PDEA, pangungunahan ang drug interdiction task group sa Puerto Princesa International Airport

Puerto Princesa City—Bubuo ng Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG) para sa Puerto Princesa International Airport ang mga kinauukulang ahensiya ng pamahalaan na pangungunahan ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Magiging tungkulin nito na manmanan at pigilan ang pagpasok ng iligal na droga sa Puerto Princesa , Palawan gamit ang mga courier, na idinadaan sa mga paliparan at pantalan.

“Ang ating airports, mga seaports ay nagagamit ng mga sindikato ng droga sa pag transport, pag-smuggle nito, kaya napapanahon na ang pagbuo natin nito sa mga paliparan at isusunod na natin sa mga pantalan ang pag-create ng task group,” ani Atty. Ronnie Cudia, PDEA Academy Superintendent sa press conference noong Miyerkules.

Makakatuwang ng PDEA PPIA-IADITG ang apat na ahensiya katulad ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Department of Justice-National Prosecution Service (DOJ-NPS), Bureau of Immigration (BI) at ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa pamamagitan ng Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) nito.

“Nakikita kasi natin ang respective mandates sa airport na walang concern pagdating sa dangerous drugs, so we have to create the task group, magkakaroon tayo ng palitan ng intelligence with AVSEGROUP, CAAP para ma-prevent natin ang entry at exit nito sa Palawan, mabawasan man lang kung hindi man matanggal totally,” dagdag pa ni Cudia. Sinabi pa ng opisyal na nauna nilang binuo ang task group sa mga paliparan at isusunod na nila ang pagbuo nito sa mga pantalan, bagamat may mga nasimulan na silang pagsasanay para sa seaport interdiction task group unit sa ibang bahagi ng bansa.

“Nagsimula na po tayo ng mga trainings partikular na sa Mindanao, Visayas at susunod na ang mga isla sa Luzon,” aniya pa. Ang pagbuo ng drug interdiction task group ay nakabatay sa kasunduang nilagdaan noon pang August 27, 2014 na nilagdaan ng mga matataas na opisyal ng PDEA, Bureau of Customs, BI, DOJ-NPS, National Bureau of Investigation at PNP.

Ayon kay PDEA Acting Regional Director Mario D.A. Ramos, kapag nabuo na ang task group sa mga pantalalan, makakatuwang naman nila ang PNP Maritime at Philippine Coast Guard. Pinaplano na rin ani Ramos ang pagtatalaga ng kanilang mga tauhan sa Buliluyan Port sa bayan ng Bataraza at maisasakatuparan ito sakaling may magtapos sa kanilang pagsasanay at mabuo na ang grupo para sa mga pantalan.

Samantala, sa talaan ng PDEA-Palawan, taong 2015 nang huli silang makasabat ng marijuana sa lumang paliparan na dala ng isang pasaherong foreign national mula sa El Nido, pa-biyahe na patungong kamaynilaan. Nitong huli lamang may natagpuang sisidlan sa bagong paliparan na pinaghinalaang shabu subalit nang tingnan at suriin, ay nag negatibo ito.

Tiniyak naman ni CAAP-Puerto Princesa General Manager Percy Malonesio na mahigpit ang kaniyang pamunuan pagdating sa usapin ng iligal na droga sapagkat maging ang kaniyang mga tauhan aniya ay sumasailalim sa pagmamanman kung gumagamit o may kinalaman sa kaso ng ipinagbabawal na gamot. (AJA/PDN)
