Pista y Ang Kagueban sa walong barangay, naging matagumpay

Matagumpay ang pagdaraos ng Pista Y Ang Kagueban sa walong mga Barangay sa Puerto Princesa sa bahaging norte partikular sa Barangay Lucbuan, Maoyon, Babuyan, San Rafael, Tanabag, Concepcion, Binduyan at Langogan nitong nagdaang Hulyo 2, kung saan malubhang napinsala ng bagyong Odette noong Disyembre 2021.

Pinangunahan naman ni Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron, Vice Mayor Nancy Socrates kasama ang mga miyembro ng Sangguniang Panlungsod, Western Command, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, City Enro, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) at mga empleyado ng Pamahalaang Panglunsod.

Ayon kay Puerto Princesa City Mayor Bayron, 29 taon ng isinasagawa ang Pista Y Ang Kagueban at natigil lamang ito ng dalawang taon dahil sa pandemyang dulot ng COVID-19, nagpapasalamat rin ito sa mga nakiisa.

“Ngayon palang nagpapasalamat na ako hindi ko akalain na ganito kalaki kasi first time natin na binuhay uli, dahil dalawang taon natigil maraming nakiisa marami pa nga kami na over take. Papunta nga tayo dito gusto ko ibalita sa inyo na naka amoy ako ng pantot sabi ko buhay na buhay ang biodiversity dito sa Puerto Princesa,” saad ni Mayor Bayron.

Ang Pista Y Ang Kagueban ay nagsimula noong taon 1990 sa pamamagitan ng Palawan Integrated Area Development Project Office, at taong 1993 ang pamahalaang panglunsod na ang nangasiwa at nagpatuloy nito taon-taon.

Samantala Mahigit 4,177 ang kabuuang bilang ng dumalo sa aktibidad at 6,500 naman ang bilang ng mga puno ang naitanim, tulad na lamang ng mga fruit trees at flowering trees sa walong Barangay sa norte ng Puerto Princesa.
