Puerto Princesa City Water District nagdeklara na ng unang alerto sa krisis ng tubig

Nagdeklara na ang Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) ng unang alerto sa krisis ng tubig sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa.

Ayon kay Jenn Rausa, Acting Spokesperson ng PPCWD, ang water level kamakailan lang ay bumaba dahil nagsisimula na ang panahon ng tag-init.

“Alert one na tayo sa Campo Uno. Nag-meeting kami about sa level [at] status ng tubig natin sa Campo Uno. Doon na dineclare na under alert level one na yung base dito sa parameters na sinet ng district,” saad niya.

Ang normal water level ay nasa 180 cm at ang critical water level naman ay aabot sa 140 cm kada araw.

Iginiit ni Rausa na noong Pebrero 12, ang water level ay bumaba sa 155 cm at malapit nang umabot sa critical water level.  

“Ang tubig natin sa Campo Uno, pag umaga, bubuhos na yan lahat kasi peak hours, tinataas natin yung pressure. Then pag hapon [at] gabi, binababaan natin, binabawasan, kaya tumataas ulit yung water level natin sa Campo Uno by morning. Ganun nalang ang nangyayari ngayon. Kino-control nalang natin yung pressure ng tubig, yung nire-release nating pressure,” paliwanag ni Rausa.

Dagdag pa niya, “Nagbabawas na tayo ng pressure ng tubig sa mga matataas na area. Nagbawas na tayo sa linya natin along Malvar. Nagbabawas tayo para yung pressure ng tubig na dumadaan doon sa linya sa Malvar, dadagdag siya [at] makatulak ng pressure papunta doon sa mga areas sa Bancao Bancao, Bagong Sikat, Bagong Silang, kasi sila usually yung nawawalan ng tubig.”

Ayon kay Rausa, dahil ngayong Pebrero palang ay nakakaranas na ng init sa lungsod, kapag nagtuloy-tuloy ang init at tumaas ang demand sa tubig, maaaring umabot sa ikatlong alerto ang krisis ng tubig, na kung saan kakailanganin nang magsagawa ng water rationing.
