The City Council approved Monday the P11-million supplemental budget for this year.
The City Council’s appropriation committee chair, Councilor Victor Oliveros, told Palawan Daily News (PDN) Tuesday that supplemental budget no. 4 amounting to P11,310,000 is mostly for the infrastructure projects of the City Hall.
“This is a continuing project, but we need to move forward through the implementation of these types of projects,” said Oliveros.
“Ang gusto natin ay talagang meaningful spending, or expenditures, of the people’s money. This is for the development where if not all, then most of the majority will be benefitted. Lagi ngang sinasabi ng ating punong lungsod, we’re competing with the rest of the cities in the whole country. Talagang kailangan na nating gawin na meaningful talaga ‘yong true progress,” Oliveros added.
Oliveros stated that among the projects covered in this supplemental budget is the construction of a new slaughterhouse, additional buildings in Barangay San Jose, and the establishment of a new police station in Brgy. Irawan.
Oliveros said the City Hall will also purchase new equipment to capacitate the implementation of its “horizontal projects” or roads and the like. He said the smart street lights for the city roads are included as well under the budget.
